Elizabeth Cortez, PhD
Research has shown that a strong bond between a therapist and client can help a person cope with a variety of issues in his/her life including anxiety, depression, addiction, work pressures, career transition, and relationship difficulties. Thus, it is my goal to provide you, my client, with an open and accepting environment so that you can feel free to disclose the thoughts and feelings that keep you trapped in an unhealthy relationship and/or a mediocre life. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you challenge your maladaptive thinking patterns in order to develop more rational and healthy ways of thinking. Cognitive-behavioral therapy has been proven to be effective in reducing overall levels of anxiety and depression and is helpful in treating panic disorder, social anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder, among a variety of other conditions. Together we will take an active approach towards addressing your concerns.
